Businesses trading above the £85,000 VAT registration threshold must comply with Making Tax Digital (MTD) rules from 1 April 2019. This will have a fundamental impact on many local  businesses and will include a requirement to:

  •  Keep VAT records in a suitable digital format
  •  Submit VAT returns to HMRC using MTD compatible software
