Making Tax Digital

Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT is fundamentally changing the administration of the UK Tax system. From 1 April 2022, it applies to all VAT registered businesses and landlords. These businesses will need to sign up to MTD for their first VAT return period starting on or after 1 April 2022.

What does MTD mean?
    • You will be required to maintain financial information digitally using MTD compliant software packages
    • VAT Returns must be filed using MTD compliant digital software
How do you prepare for MTD?
  • Assess how your financial records are currently maintained and determine if you need to make changes
  • If you use manual records, consider the benefits of a software package that is suited to your business needs
  • If you use a computer software package, consider if it is, or will be, MTD compliant
  • We can submit your VAT returns using fully up to date MTD compliant software
  • Determine if a bookkeeper is required to keep all information up to date, or if you have the capacity to manage the timely recording and reporting of information
